On November 2, 2010, Austin voters approved a $90 million bond package to fund a variety of road, bicycle, pedestrian and transit improvements throughout Austin. As part of the Austin Strategic Mobility Plan, city staff and the ASMP team worked with community members and groups, partner agencies and a council-appointed Citizens Task Force to develop the 2010 Mobility Bond program. Implementation has already begun, with plans to initiate or complete all of the 2010 Bond projects within the next two years.
The approximately 50 priority projects included in the package were drawn from a list of 474 potential investments analyzed using the ASMP's Project Prioritization Process. This list was in turn drawn from the more than 3,000 transportation needs identified by the people of Austin during the ASMP's gap analysis. This project prioritization will be continued and updated to inform the development of future investment and bond programs.
As progress continues on implementation, we'll keep you informed right here at the ASMP website. Below you'll find links to key documents and information resources about the 2010 Bond's mobility priorities and how they were developed. Most recent links are listed first.
